Now that's a denial. | by Pat

Busy day of news today, but the most interesting has to be Bob Stoops delivering another denial and finally saying what he hasn't said to this point.

"I work for a wonderful president (David Boren) and athletic director (Joe Castiglione), who have created an incredible work environment at OU. There haven't been any plans for a meeting or negotiations with Notre Dame and there will not be. Any reporting to that fact is completely erroneous. I will not be the next coach at Notre Dame."
No wiggle room in that statement unless ND plans on hiring and firing O'Leary again. And with Stoops off the table, it certainly seems that Cincinnati's Brian Kelly, who just finished off Pitt in dramatic fashion to win the Big East, is a heavy public opinion favorite. Whether that means ND will hire him or not is still a question mark though as ND has run a quiet search and the leaks have been few and far between. Like the previous post suggests, we're probably going to continue hearing conflicting rumors of dubious origin so best keep your skepticism intact until someone steps behind the podium with Jack Swarbrick and Fr. Jenkins at his side.
