The Coaches Poll came out early after all, and Florida is #2. Tressel abstained from voting.

2 Florida: 1,470
3 Michigan: 1,444

On the surface it looks like a slim margin, but it's really not. A perfect #2 ranking would be (62 votes) * (24 points for second place) = 1,488. So Florida only missed it by 18 points, meaning 18 coaches had them #3, while 44 had them #2. An overwhelming majority of coaches want the Gators in the title game.

Update: the LA Times says it's a done deal.
